Cassandra Hazelrig, MSN, PMHNP-BC founded Encounter Wellness Mental Health Services in 2021.  She has been a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner since 2013, and she has worked in both hospitals and outpatient community mental health agencies. Mrs. Hazelrig has run specialty clinics including Assertive Community Treatment Teams which is a multidisciplinary team for clients with serious mental illness.  Other positions held include forensics, telepsychiatry, private practice, and she is currently work as an adjunct professor at a university.   She has experience treating depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, psychosis, personality disorders, PTSD, SMI, dual diagnosis, and other conditions.   

 

She is a strong patient advocate and values building strong relationships with her patients based on trust, compassion, and honesty.  She provides empathetic and compassionate patient-centered care and is approachable, attentive, and respectful of the decisions made regarding her patient’s treatment.   Cassandra listens as well as “hears” what you are telling her.
